SIX7 Plumbing Pipe Repair Colombo
Sun-cooked PVC turns to dust in your hands. Rusted galvanized threads weep from the inside. Brittle PPR lets go beside hot units. Each fails differently, and each gets a different replacement — not a universal patch.

External runs die of UV first: the pipe chalks, splits along the top, weeps at every clamp. Sun-baked copper-and-PVC mixed valves crumble when touched after years outdoors, and that job becomes a length of pipe plus new valves, not a washer. Indoors, galvanized threads corrode from the water outward and PPR hardens near geysers until a joint fails under pressure.
Underground is its own category. Tree roots shear buried lines almost undetectably — sometimes the only symptom is ground that stays wet. Kids digging in the yard "find a well" that is actually the incoming main. Drainage and toilet runs sit a few feet down, sometimes under concrete, and old lines get crushed by the weight above them. When digging is needed, excavation is 5,400/hr and we say so before the first spade.
Material ID before cutting, transition fittings for mixed runs, and where thick 3/4" PVC has no proper coupler, a heat-formed socket done the taught way instead of an improvised one.

"A bigger clamp fixes a weep."
A weeping pipe wall is already thin; clamping it splits the next centimetre.
Mixed-material houses need transition fittings — we stock them because 90s builds never used one material twice.
Cause
UV degrades external PVC in months; galvanic corrosion eats galvanized threads; PPR hardens beside hot units.
How We Fix It
Identify material, cut the failed run, replace with UV-rated or correct-spec pipe, proper fittings, pressure-test.
If you have a mix of pipe types in your house (and you probably do), know where each transitions. That's where failures happen first.
A pinhole leak under pressure can release 500+ litres a day. That's a flood you don't see until it's too late.
External runs fail from sunlight before age — indoor-spec PVC left outdoors cracks within a couple of seasons, so UV-rated pipe is the only pipe we fit outside.
How It Works
Our process is simple, transparent, and designed to get your pipes fixed with minimal disruption.
We identify the pipe material and cut out the failed section cleanly.
New pipe with correct-spec fittings, UV-rated for external runs.
Full pressure test before handover — no guesswork, no callbacks.
"Every repair is pressure-tested before we leave — a patched joint that weeps twice does not get a third chance from us."

How to Prevent Pipe Failures
External Runs
- • Always use UV-rated pipe for outdoor runs — indoor-spec PVC fails in months.
- • Protect exposed pipes from direct sun with conduit or insulation.
- • Check external runs after monsoon — tree debris can loosen clamps.
Internal Pipes
- • Know where your main shut-off valve is — you'll need it in an emergency.
- • Listen for hammer noise — it means loose clamps or air in the line.
- • Check transition points between different pipe materials regularly.
