SIX7 Plumbing Leak Repair Colombo
A clamp seals the hole, not the pipe. When a joint blows — usually at dawn, because mains pressure climbs overnight while the house sleeps — the material around the failure is already weakened. We cut out the failed section and pressure-test the line before we patch the access.

Is this your problem?
- Burst main after the night pressure spike
- Dripping joint under sink or basin
- Damp patch growing on a wall
- Meter spinning with every tap off
What leaves your wall is a repaired run, not a covered hole: isolate, cut out, new pipe and joints in matching material, whole-line pressure test, then the access gets patched. Bursts on exposed runs are the fast version of the same job — stop the water, replace the section, test.
Colombo bathrooms add a twist our techs see weekly: sockets buried in tile decay and crack inside the wall, so the leak announces itself as falling pressure, not a puddle. Those cracks often break fully when touched, which is why replacement is quoted before we start, not mid-job. In older affluent stock, thick 3/4" PVC means proper couplers are scarce — the van carries transition fittings, and where no socket exists our techs form one by heating and stretching the pipe, the taught trade-school method, done deliberately.
Detection and repair in one visit is one job: one visit fee, one labor clock. Parts at published markup, or supply your own and pay labor only.
"Plumber's tape stops a burst pipe."
Tape holds until the next pressure spike — then it floods you faster than the first time.
Galvanized joints in 90s houses weep first. We carry transition fittings for mixed-material runs so you don't wait for a second visit.
Cause
Night-time mains pressure spikes hit weak joints hardest — which is why most bursts are discovered at 6 AM, not midnight.
How We Fix It
Isolate, cut out the failed section, fit matching material, pressure-test the whole line, patch the access.
Know where your main shut-off valve is *before* you need it. Spend 5 minutes today — save thousands tomorrow.
A dripping joint wastes 15,000+ litres a year. That's a swimming pool's worth of water — and money.
A pipe that has been patched more than once will weep at the oldest patch — we cut back to sound material before we join anything to it.
What to Do Before We Arrive
- If water is escaping, close the main stopcock clockwise and open a low tap to drain the line.
- Follow the wet path back to its lowest point — the source is almost always uphill of the stain.
- Tape the first damp spot you noticed — leaks travel, and the starting point matters.
- Photograph the water meter, wait an hour with all taps off, then compare — a moving dial proves a hidden leak.
