SIX7 Plumbing Tap Installation Colombo
Labor-only fitting welcome — but we inspect your tap before we fit it, and we refuse to fit one we know will fail.
A tap fails at two places: the washer or cartridge seat, and the thread seal. Both are decided during fitting, which is why torque, tape-versus-compound choice and a seat check are not optional steps here. We inspect the fixture first — hole diameter, tail length, pressure rating — because a mismatched tap leaks at the base no matter how well it's fitted.
Bring your own tap and you get the labor-only rate after inspection; buy through us and it's at fixture markup with the compatibility question answered before purchase. Kitchen taps and basin taps are different jobs: kitchen tails and swivel mounts need different sealing and support, and we fit both daily.
New tap bought, needs fitting
We inspect the fixture first — hole diameter, tail length, pressure rating.
Old tap corroded at the base
A mismatched tap leaks at the base no matter how well it's fitted.
Upgrade to a mixer
Torque, tape-versus-compound choice and a seat check are not optional steps here.
Kitchen tap swap
Kitchen tails and swivel mounts need different sealing and support, and we fit both daily.

How We Fit It
Our fitting process ensures your tap is installed leak-free, every time.
Fixture Inspection
We inspect your fixture for quality and compatibility before we even touch a wrench.
Seals & Thread Work
Correct seals, right thread treatment, and torque-checked mounting for a leak-free fit.
Flow & Leak Test
Full flow test and leak check before we call it done. No drips, no guessing.
Neighbor Approved
"Your own tap, our fit — we inspect what you bought first, then install it dry and check it under pressure."
— SIX7 Plumbing, Mount Lavinia
We set the tap to the fixture, not to force — correct hole, correct tail, correct pressure, tested dry before we leave.

Fitted to Last
We use the right seals, thread compound, and torque for every fixture type.
Correct Seals
O-rings, washers, and thread seals matched to your fixture and pressure.
Thread Treatment
Right compound or tape for the material — no guessing, no leaks.
Torque Check
Mounting torqued to spec — tight enough to seal, not tight enough to crack.
The Nitty Gritty
DIY tap fits die at the washer and thread seal within months because tape-vs-compound and torque are guessed, not done. Here's what we do:
- Fixture Inspection: We check quality and compatibility before fitting.
- Seals + Thread Work: Correct seals and thread treatment for a leak-free fit.
- Torque Check: Mounting torqued to spec — no cracking, no loosening.
- Leak Test: Full flow test before we call it done.
ALL FITTINGS INCLUDE
6-Month Workmanship Warranty
"Any tap fits any basin."
Hole diameters, tail lengths and pressure ratings differ; a mismatch leaks at the base.
Cheap taps don't fail at the body — they fail at the cartridge, and hard water kills those inside a year.
If you're buying a tap, check the cartridge type. If it's a proprietary design, replacement parts will cost you later.
